Introduction

This Forest, the boundary between Daejeon City and Geumsangun, Chungnam, is located 17km of local road number 17 from the Daejeon Station. The forest includes Bongsuregol, Keunbegol, and Jaeunbegol - the main peak -, Maninsan Mountain. Because of this magnificent scenery, King Teajo and princes of Joseon Dynasty visited here. In the valley, abundant water flows, and thick woods are covered. Since this place accommodates resort areas for families, youth, and picnics, it has become a pleasant resting place for the city people. Sitting on benches with the wonderful views, they enjoy the nature. In particular, Manin Tower, the symbolic structure of Maninsan Mountain, is the representative structure of the tower pavilion (樓亭). The original structure of this tower came from the Segeumjong structure in Bukaksan Mountian in Seoul. The main material of the tower is reinforced concrete. Its roof is a two-story wooden tiled roof that demonstrates the beauty of Korea’s traditional construction methods.
