This water-themed cultural space was built by Korea Water Resources Corporation to draw attention from the public and make them have a better understanding of the water culture. The existing Daecheong Dam Water Center was remodeled and transformed into the Daecheong Dam Water Culture Center on July 6, 2004. The Daecheong Dam Water Culture Center consists of three exhibition halls. Exhibition Hall I introduces the role and functions of the Daecheong Dam and explains the importance of water. Exhibition Hall II mentions habitat environment around the Geumgang River. Lastly, Exhibition Hall III highlights the records of Daecheongho people’s lives and culture, which disappeared after the construction of the Daecheong Dam. In addition, this center features various facilities such as a theater, archive, information center, observatory and a special exhibition hall.
